Technology Tip Number 109
Just the Basics Please

Today's tip will provide you with three great resources for help with basic computer skills.  Hopefully you've developed enough confidence with the computer that you don't need these sites, but you might know someone else who does. Here are three websites for really basic computer knowledge:

Really Easy:
New User Tutorial

This really easy tutorial is intended for people who have never used a computer before.  It is run by The Library Network in Michigan.  It was adapted in part from tutorials at Washoe County Nevada Library System and Central Kansas Library System and Palm Beach County Library System

Beginner Level:
Computer Basics

The Goodwill Community Foundation in Raleigh, North Carolina in the USA has created a great website to help anyone learn more about computer technology and many other topics.  It is a great resource for adult professionals with limited computer skills but also a great free resource for learning more advanced skills as well.

Basic Level:
Basic Computer Tutorial

This more in depth tutorial is from the Computer Technology Documentation Project.  Lots of information and a large table of contents to explore.  A much more extensive tutorial compared to the others.

PRACTICE ACTIVITY:  Promote computer technology by sharing these websites with someone you know who needs help with real basic computer skills.

TO KEEP ON LEARNING:  For more help with basic computer skills try searching the internet for:
