Throughout education we are faced with this essential question: 
How can educators more effective integrate computer technology resources to the benefit of students?

180 Technology Tips exists to help educators and other professionals address this essential question.  It is not the only solution to integrating computer technology but for many educators it can be a great starting point. 

Why is learning about technology important?

Key Concepts that guide the development of this site:

Number One:  Teachers can't effectively integrate computer technology into the classroom unless they can effectively integrate computer technology into their own lives.  Teachers naturally teach what they know and are most comfortable with.  Each of the 180 Technology Tips is designed to be meaningful to adults who want to become more familiar with computer technology on a personal level so they can better apply it to their professional duties.

Number Two:  When it comes to learning about computer technology a short, meaningful lesson with a practice activity is much more effective than an hour long lecture. Therefore each of the 180 Technology Tips takes no more than 5 minutes to read and practice.  Cumulatively they represent 15 hours of free computer instruction.  It's a form of technology training that has been called Low Threshold Applications or Activities (LTA's).

Number Three:  Adults learn best when they can control their learning.  When you sign up for a daily technology tip you will receive an email each day that will tell you a little about the day's tip and provide a link to the full tip.  This way you don't have to waste time reading tips that you don't need.  On average only about 33% of the subscribers who receive an emailed tech tip actually go to the website to learn more and that's OK.  Not every tip is meaningful to every subscriber but enough of them are.
